Beijing, September 19 (Xinhua) — Xinjiang is currently experiencing the best period of development in the region's history, according to a white paper published Friday by the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China, titled "The CPC's Strategy for Governing Xinjiang in the New Era: Practices and Achievements."
The document notes that decisive steps have been taken to govern Xinjiang in accordance with the law, maintain stability through inter-ethnic unity, strengthen cultural identity and ties, ensure greater prosperity for the region and its people, and ensure the long-term development of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
