HANGZHOU, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) — Two China-Europe trains departed from Yiwu West Railway Station in east China's Zhejiang Province on Wednesday, carrying daily necessities, electronic components, new energy equipment, and other export goods. This marks the first time since the beginning of 2025 that the number of China-Europe/Central Asia freight trains departing from Zhejiang Province has exceeded 1,000.

"This year, the number of China-Europe trains departing from Zhejiang Province exceeded 1,000 a month earlier than last year, maintaining a favorable trend," said an employee of the logistics department of the Shanghai branch of China Railways (CR).

According to him, high-value-added products such as photovoltaic panels, NEV vehicles and products sold through cross-border e-commerce continue to enter overseas markets via China-Europe trains.

A representative of a local trading company, which also operates the Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe rail freight route, said the range of goods transported on China-Europe freight trains from Zhejiang Province continues to expand – from small essential goods to nearly 50,000 items in 26 categories currently, including automobiles and photovoltaic products.

Currently, there are 26 regular cross-border routes operating within the China-Europe rail freight transport sector, linking Zhejiang Province with more than 160 cities in over 50 countries across the Eurasian continent. -0-
