Nanning, September 18 (Xinhua) — The construction of the China-ASEAN Cooperation Center for Artificial Intelligence (AI) was announced Thursday. The announcement came during a ministerial roundtable on AI in Nanning, capital of southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZAR).
According to a statement from China's National Development and Reform Commission, the new center will focus on building AI infrastructure, providing open-source platforms, and training personnel to support practical applications and ensure fair access to AI technologies.
In addition, during a roundtable jointly organized by the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the ASEAN, the "AI Plus" initiative to promote cooperation between China and ASEAN countries was announced, and a proposal was put forward to establish a ministerial-level cooperation mechanism.
