Beijing, September 18 (Xinhua) — China is ready to work with all parties to build a more equitable and rational global security governance system, Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun said on Thursday.

Dong Jun made the announcement during separate meetings with the Defense Ministers of Vietnam, Phan Van Giang, Uruguay, Sandra Laso, and Somalia, Ahmed Moalim Fiki. All three ministers arrived in Beijing to participate in the 12th Xiangshan Forum, which is taking place from September 17 to 19.

According to Dong Jun, the world is entering a new period of turbulence and transformation, with calls for peace, development, and cooperation growing louder, especially from the Global South.

The Chinese Minister of Defense pointed out that China is ready to work with all parties to strengthen strategic mutual trust, expand cooperation in defense and security, and remain a force for peace, stability, and progress in the world, while promoting the construction of a more just and reasonable global security governance system.

During the meetings, the defense ministers of foreign countries congratulated China on the successful holding of the Xiangshan Forum and praised China's important role in promoting dialogue and exchanges, strengthening friendship and mutual trust, and building consensus.

Phan Van Giang stated that the Vietnamese side is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in areas such as personnel exchanges, joint exercises and training, expand friendly exchanges on border defense, and promote the deep and fruitful construction of a Vietnam-China community with a shared future.

S. Lazo indicated that the Uruguayan side intends to adopt China's successful experience in various areas and continue to deepen cooperation with it in areas such as defense, security, and international peacekeeping operations.
