Minsk, September 18 (Xinhua) — The number of electric vehicles in Belarus could increase to 50,000 by the end of 2025, Energy Minister Denis Moroz announced on Wednesday. The Ministry of Energy's press service published the information on the same day.

According to the minister, the number of electric vehicles in Belarus has already exceeded 38,500 units, with monthly growth exceeding 2,000. As a result, electricity consumption by electric vehicle charging stations is growing. In 2024, this figure will more than double compared to 2023, from 18 to 39 million kWh.

This positive trend continues this year. In the first eight months of 2025, electricity consumption by charging stations amounted to over 50 million kWh.

"This area will continue to develop rapidly. We expect that by 2030, the number of electric vehicles on the country's roads will increase to 300,000," D. Moroz concluded.
