Moscow, September 18 (Xinhua) — Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat's facility in the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan is operating normally following an attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The fire has been contained, and no exceedance of the maximum permissible concentration of harmful substances in the air has been detected, RIA Novosti reported, citing local authorities.
Earlier, regional governor Radiy Khabirov stated that two aircraft-type drones attacked the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat plant. Security guards shot them down, causing a fire. There were no injuries.
"The plant in Salavat continues to operate normally, and technological processes have not been disrupted. The fire at the plant has been contained, and after the aftermath is eliminated, an assessment will be made of the need for repairs," RIA Novosti quotes the press service of the head of the republic as saying.
