On September 20 and 21, Moscow will host one of the largest races in Russia, the Moscow Marathon. It will be held for the 12th time. Over the course of three days, from September 18 to 20, there will be a sports exhibition, and two days of competitions: 10- and 42.2-kilometer races, corporate and student relay races, and a children's race. The marathon will be held with the support of Department of Sports of the City of Moscow.
This year, almost 50,000 athletes from 65 countries will take to the starting line. Professional athletes will compete for records, and amateurs will realize their dream of overcoming the distance.
The new routes pass by the capital's main attractions: the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, St. Basil's Cathedral and Stalin's skyscrapers.
Bright impressions from running in the center of Moscow await not only adults: for children aged four to 13, a special children's race will be held on September 20. In addition, corporate and student relay races will be part of the celebration, in which hundreds of teams will take part.
