Taas-Yuryakh Oil and Gas Production, part of Rosneft's production complex, continues to implement cutting-edge solutions for oil production in challenging geological conditions. A domestically developed innovative titanium drilling technology has been successfully tested at the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field.

As part of a pilot project, the company's specialists drilled more than 500 meters into a carbonate reservoir using ultra-thin titanium needles with a diameter of 12 millimeters.

The innovation is an alternative to the traditional technology of multi-stage hydraulic fracturing (MSHF) with control of drainage zones from the wellbore horizontally and vertically.

The technology makes it possible to develop thin oil layers that are bounded by water at the bottom and by a large gas cap at the top.

The new method is promising for the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field. A significant portion of the field's reserves lie in zones with an extensive gas cap. These geological conditions require the use of innovative oil production technologies and the development of new solutions by corporate research and development institutes and oilfield service divisions.
