BEIJING, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) — Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun on Wednesday called for strong support for global governance and joint efforts to build a community with a shared future for humanity.
Dong Jun made the announcement during separate meetings with the defense ministers of Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Namibia, Rwanda and Senegal, who arrived in Beijing to attend the 12th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.
Warmly welcoming the high-ranking guests, the Chinese Minister of Defense emphasized that the current forum has historical significance and practical importance.
He noted that the Chinese armed forces are ready to develop traditional friendship with all parties, strengthen strategic communication, conduct security cooperation at a higher level, and jointly respond to risks and challenges.
During the meetings, all heads of defense departments expressed their readiness to strengthen military cooperation with China. –0–
