Nanjing, September 17 (Xinhua) — China intends to work with all parties to build a more just and reasonable global governance system, State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong announced on Wednesday.
Wang Xiaohong made the remarks while delivering a speech at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Global Forum on Public Security Cooperation in Lianyungang, east China's Jiangsu Province.
According to him, over the past year, China has actively promoted the implementation of the consensus reached at the 2024 meeting of the forum and vigorously promoted fruitful results in building a global public security community.
Wang Xiaohong emphasized that China is willing to work with all parties to implement the Global Security Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative, uphold the principle of sovereign equality, exercise common governance, adhere to the rule of international law, pursue international fairness and justice, practice multilateralism, and strive for mutual benefit and win-win results.
The Chinese minister called on all parties to uphold a people-centered approach, share results, focus on action, ensure long-term security, and promote the building of a more equitable and reasonable global governance system.
Wang Xiaohong said that in this regard, China will take concrete actions in five areas, including jointly building a governance platform, developing governance products, enhancing governance capacity, innovating governance, and promoting governance cooperation, to contribute to the formation of a new architecture for global public security governance.
This year's meeting's theme is "Creating Global Public Security Together: Cohesive Action to Respond to Multiple Threats." The opening ceremony also featured speeches by Ahmed Nasser Al-Raisi, President of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), and Jean-Pierre Lacroix, Under-Secretary-General for UN Peacekeeping Operations.
