BEIJING, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) — A photo exhibition dedicated to Chinese who lived in Russia during the modern period opened on Wednesday at the Xinhai Revolution Museum in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, central China, the Chinanews.com.cn news website reported.
The photo exhibition features over 200 photographs that shed light on the history of Chinese emigrants in Russia, the history of Chinese who studied in the Soviet Union, and related history through the lens of local history.
The exhibition, which consists of three parts, displays photographs of letters, documents, archives, and historical materials printed on posters, as well as photographs of household items, school supplies, scientific manuscripts, etc., which tell about the lives and educational episodes of the Chinese who lived in Russia, as well as their outstanding contribution to the development of the Motherland and emphasize their patriotism.
Wei Dexun, director of the 1911 Revolution Museum, noted that the exhibition promotes patriotism among overseas Chinese and their tradition of serving their homeland through studying abroad, so that visitors can gain a deeper understanding of this group's contribution to history.
The exhibition was jointly organized by the Museum of the 1911 Revolution and the Museum of Chinese Living in Russia in Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province, which is the only thematic museum in China that comprehensively tells the stories of Chinese emigrants in Russia and Chinese who studied in the Soviet Union and Russia. -0-
