MINSK, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) — All assigned tasks have been completed during the joint strategic exercise of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia "Zapad-2025," Chief of the General Staff – First Deputy Defense Minister of Belarus Pavel Muraveiko said on Tuesday. The corresponding information was published by the press service of the Defense Ministry of Belarus on the same day.
He reported that the Zapad-2025 exercise provided a lot of material for reflection on the nature of modern military operations, the order of their conduct and the improvement of troop training for current events and the peculiarities of modern warfare.
"We have worked through all the tasks that we set for ourselves. Among the significant events, I can note the planning and consideration of the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons, the assessment and deployment of the Oreshnik mobile missile system. We have used unmanned aerial vehicles in various versions," noted P. Muraveiko and added that Russian colleagues also shared their combat experience with Belarusian units.
According to him, the actions of each formation, unit and military unit still need to be analyzed in detail. “But we can already say that we have received good tactical, operational and field training of troops. In particular, we have learned to fight drones, regardless of their type. At the same time, our air defense forces worked well and shot down all the air targets that they were assigned to hit,” noted P. Muraveiko.
He noted that during the exercise, actions were studied during the assault on populated areas, clearing areas captured by illegal armed groups and sabotage and reconnaissance groups. In addition, electronic warfare equipment was actively used. –0–
