Moscow, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) — A performance about the history of Russia and its cultural diversity, “National Show of Russia,” was presented in Moscow on Sept. 15 as part of the international cultural and educational project “Dance Overture of Peace” in the BRICS countries.
“Studying each other’s dance culture and understanding the meanings embedded in it provides support for building friendly relations between peoples and promotes understanding that, at their core, the spiritual and moral values of people from different countries of the world are similar, despite the fact that they have different cultural representations,” noted the author and performer of the project from the Russian side, Elena Tsarenko.
Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Andrei Malyshev emphasized that the art of dance is a language accessible and understandable to every person on the planet. “This wonderful overture will certainly find a response in the heart of every sane person in the world,” he said.
The project, aimed at expanding and strengthening friendly ties between the BRICS countries based on common cultural and humanitarian values, was launched at the BRICS summit in Kazan in October 2024. Events within the framework of this project have already been held in the United Arab Emirates and Egypt.
In October, the project will be shown to Chinese viewers, and in 2026, to Indian viewers. The project is then planned to be presented in Brazil, Ethiopia and South Africa. –0–
