The 13th Moscow Motorcycle Festival will be held on September 27 at Vorobyovy Gory. Thousands of motorcyclists will gather there to finish the season. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.
"We invite Muscovites to one of the main events of this year. The capital's motorcycle festivals are an opportunity to remind all participants of the importance of following traffic rules and responsible behavior on the roads. On behalf of Sergei Sobyanin, we continue to draw attention to motorcycle culture and improve travel safety," said Maxim Liksutov.
Every year the capital celebrates the beginning and end of the motorcycle season, and a large-scale entertainment program is held for visitors. A detailed schedule of events, as well as the motorcyclists' race route with the start and finish of the column will be published in the near future.
This year, the motorcycle season opened on April 26. The festival on Vorobyovy Gory was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. A column of motorcyclists solemnly rode along the Garden Ring. For the first time in history, retro equipment from the Motors of War Museum participated in the race. A concert of famous performers, master classes and a show were arranged for the guests.
Employees of the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which houses the original Victory Banner hoisted on the Reichstag building, prepared a copy for the spring motorcycle festival. The banner was attached to the motorcycle of one of the participants in the ride along the Garden Ring. In total, more than 10 thousand motorcyclists rode in the column.
