BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) — The 2025 Golden Square International Traditional Culture Festival was held from Sept. 9 to 14 in Beidaihe, a coastal district of Qinhuangdao City, north China's Hebei Province. The large-scale event brought together more than 2,000 artists from China and Russia.
According to the Pengpai News portal, the event was jointly organized by the CPC Committee of Beidaihe District, the people's government of this district, the Tourism, Culture, Radio and Television Department of Qinhuangdao City and the operator of the Russian international cultural and educational project "Altyn Maidan".
The festival has become one of the largest platforms in China for cultural exchange between the Chinese and Russian peoples. It was attended by 1,500 artists from more than 20 regions of Russia and 500 art lovers from various provinces and cities of China, together creating a multifaceted and vibrant cultural festival.
The festival program included competitive performances by Chinese and Russian groups, street processions, an evening of national cultures, a show of national costumes, cultural fairs and master classes, as well as artistic performances covering traditional arts such as dance, music, playing musical instruments and crafts.
Artists from China and Russia, wearing colorful national costumes, vividly demonstrated the rich artistic and folklore heritage of the two countries through graceful dances and exciting music on the street stage, attracting the attention of many locals and tourists. Constant applause and a festive atmosphere created a unique environment for international cultural exchange.
The objectives of this event were to significantly enhance the cultural soft power and international prestige of Qinhuangdao City, create a new platform for cultural exchange between China and Russia, and form a widely recognizable urban cultural brand.
