BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) — The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on Tuesday issued a statement calling on domestic and foreign enterprises to step up cooperation in technological innovation and industrial chains.
In a statement, the KAAP stressed the need to create an “open, fair and non-discriminatory” international market environment to support technological progress and sustainable development of the automotive industry.
KAAP called on domestic and foreign enterprises to strengthen cooperation in the field of electrification and intellectualization to jointly promote the green, safe and high-quality development of the global automobile industry.
The association also pledged to “actively support and cooperate with investigations conducted by relevant authorities,” reaffirming its commitment to protecting fair trade and upholding the legitimate rights and interests of industry enterprises.
The CAAP statement came after China's Ministry of Commerce on September 13 announced it had launched an anti-dumping investigation into certain analog chips imported from the United States, as well as an anti-discrimination investigation into related U.S. measures targeting China's integrated circuit sector.
