NANNING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on Tuesday met with leaders of Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam who arrived in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, to attend the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo and the China-ASEAN Commerce and Investment Summit.

During a meeting with Myanmar Prime Minister Nyo Soe, the Chinese Vice President recalled that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and that Chinese President Xi Jinping recently met with Myanmar Acting President Min Aung Hlaing, during which the two sides reached an important consensus.

According to Han Zheng, China is willing to work with Myanmar to implement the important agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries and deepen the building of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future. He noted that China supports Myanmar in safeguarding national stability, sovereignty and independence, as well as consistently advancing its domestic political agenda.

Han Zheng also expressed hope that the Myanmar side will step up efforts to combat cross-border crime, ensure the safety of Chinese citizens, institutions and projects in Myanmar and security along the China-Myanmar border.

Nyo Soe, for his part, expressed Myanmar's readiness to deepen high-quality cooperation with China within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, jointly combat cross-border crime, and promote the building of a Myanmar-China community with a shared future.

During a meeting with Lao Vice President Bounthong Chitmany, Han Zheng noted that under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, the building of the China-Laos community with a shared future is steadily moving forward.

China is willing to work with Laos to implement the important consensus reached at the highest level, deepen the building of a China-Laos community with a shared future, and successfully hold the celebrations of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year, so that the traditional friendship between the two countries can be further rooted in the hearts of the people, Xi said.

Boonthong Chitmanee, for his part, noted that the relations between the two parties and the two countries are at their best in history. Han Zheng called on both sides to give full play to the role of the China-Cambodia Intergovernmental Coordination Committee, step up the construction of the Industrial Development Corridor and the Fish and Rice Corridor, and contribute to the modernization process of both countries.

For his part, Vongsay Vissoth stressed that the “iron” friendship between Cambodia and China is unbreakable, and the destinies of the two countries are inextricably linked. He expressed the kingdom’s readiness to deepen cooperation with China in various fields to continuously give new impetus to the construction of a Cambodian-Chinese community with a shared future.

Meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam Mai Van Tinh, the Vice Chairman of the PRC noted that 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the year has also been declared the Year of China-Vietnam Humanitarian Exchanges.

As Han Zheng pointed out, China hopes to work with Vietnam to follow the strategic consensus of the leaders of the two parties and the two countries, develop traditional friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, accelerate the building of a China-Vietnam community of shared future of strategic significance, and give strong impetus to the socialist modernization of both countries.

Mai Van Tinh, for his part, said that Vietnam is willing to expand high-level exchanges between the two parties and the two countries, deepen cooperation with the Chinese side in various fields, and jointly advance the construction of a Vietnam-China community with a shared future. –0–
