The Moskvich labor project, which united student brigades, has ended in the capital. More than 500 participants of the Moscow branch of the Russian Student Brigades worked in the city this summer: they erected construction sites, took care of passenger comfort on trains, served clients at airports and restaurants, created IT products for companies, and worked as junior and mid-level medical personnel.
"Moscow student teams are a real help to the city and an invaluable experience for the guys themselves. The students not only showed themselves professionally at a variety of sites – from the metro and airports to modern construction sites and clinics, but also demonstrated their creative and athletic talents," said Margarita Savinkina, head of the "Youth of Moscow" project.
Students and schoolchildren combined work with creativity and sports. For example, the children took part in the art object competition "Victory was forged by labor", the Spartakiad "Festival of yard games", the creative festival "Capital of creativity – we work and create" and media competitions.
From conductors to doctors
Schoolchildren aged 14 to 17 worked at stations of the Moscow Central Circle, Moscow Central Diameters, the capital's railway stations and at the A4 children's centre. Members of the service teams admitted students to universities, checked in passengers for flights at Vnukovo International Airport, were waiters on high-speed trains Moscow-St. Petersburg and in business lounges at railway stations. Conductors worked on long-distance trains and visited Saransk, Adler, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Rybinsk and Bryansk.
The construction students worked for PAO MOEK, PAO Rosseti, and at Moscow Metro facilities. They also built dormitories for the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba (RUDN) and the Vorobyovy Gory Innovation Science and Technology Center of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, and modernized the urban environment at OEK Stroytrest.
Students of medical universities worked for two months at the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Care, the N.A. Semashko RZhD-Medicine Clinical Hospital, and the 36.6 and Gorzdrav pharmacies.
At the closing of the season of the Moskvich labor project, the results were summed up, the winners of the competition tests were awarded, and the students were thanked for their high-quality work in the capital.
The student construction team "Titans" from the National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (NRU MGSU) became the best in the project. All summer the guys worked on the site where the campus of this university is being built.
Creative and sports competitions
In their free time, young people competed in creativity. In the nomination "Performance skills", the international student construction team "Meridian of Friendship" from RUDN won. In the nomination "Team Dance", the leaders were "Meridian of Friendship" and the service team "Citrus" from the Russian Biotechnology University. The student medical team "Egida" from the Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov took first place in the nomination "Theater of Small Forms".
Moscow student teams also took part in media competitions. In their communities, the guys ran the column "Moskvich Diary". The students talked about their workdays, acquired skills and personal achievements. The student construction team "Titans" (NRU MGSU) won. The guys also became winners of the photocross "Moscow in the lens", within the framework of which it was necessary to find unusual places in the capital and take creative photos.
In August, students went to the stadium of the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. There, sports competitions were held in the format of popular children's games, including hopscotch, rubber band, lapta, dodgeball, race for the flag, checkers and tic-tac-toe. In the overall team standings, first place was shared by the pedagogical team "Eterna" from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, the construction team "Titans" of the National Research University MGSU and the medical team "Egida" from the Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov
In addition, the results of the art object competition "Victory was forged by labor" in honor of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War were summed up. Participants created three-dimensional models of reduced versions of museum panoramas. The winner was the construction team "Titans" from the National Research University MGSU.
The activities of Moscow student brigades support the project "Youth of Moscow" of the city Committee on Public Relations and Youth Policy.
