LJUBLJANA, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) — China's continuous development will provide opportunities for all countries in the world, including Slovenia, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is visiting Slovenia, said in Ljubljana on Sunday.

Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks during a meeting with Slovenian State Council (upper house of parliament) Chairman Marko Lotric.

The head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry spoke about the path and concept of China's development. According to him, history shows that the most important thing for a country's development is to find a path that corresponds to its national realities.

Wang Yi stressed that China is committed to expanding high-level opening-up, advancing green, low-carbon and sustainable development, and pursuing Chinese-style modernization, while advocating mutual respect, mutual tolerance and win-win cooperation in international relations, striving to build a community with a shared future for mankind. China's continuous development will provide opportunities for all countries in the world, including Slovenia, the diplomat added.

China, he continued, sees Slovenia as a partner and friend and is ready to constantly expand practical cooperation with it, strengthen interaction on multilateral platforms, protect the international system, the core of which is the UN, and play a constructive role in the political settlement of international disputes.

Speaking about China-Europe relations, Wang Yi pointed out that none of the problems currently facing Europe were created by China. He stressed that China and Europe should view each other as partners, not rivals, and their relations should move forward, not back down.

China hopes that Slovenia will firmly adhere to the one-China principle and play an active role in promoting the healthy and stable development of China-EU relations, the Chinese Foreign Minister said.

M. Lotrich, in turn, highly praised China's achievements in modernization, noting that friendly relations between Slovenia and China are based on mutual benefit and win-win. According to him, bilateral ties, especially trade and economic cooperation, are developing rapidly, and exchanges in various areas, including between legislative bodies, are yielding fruitful results, contributing to the development of both countries and strengthening the friendship between their peoples.

M. Lotrich stressed that the Slovenian State Council expects to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with Chinese legislative bodies and play a more important role in promoting bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, culture, science, technology, education and sports.

He also said that he was looking forward to leading a delegation to the upcoming 8th China International Import Expo. Slovenia welcomes and supports the Global Governance Initiative put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping and is ready to join forces with China to promote peace and development around the world, M. Lotrich added. –0–
