BISHKEK, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) — The China /Yangjiang/ – Central Asia /Bishkek/ Metal Products and Cutlery Exhibition opened in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek on Monday. The exhibition features items such as knives, scissors, kitchen utensils, cutlery and baby care products.

Yangjiang City in Guangdong Province, South China, is known as the “Knife and Scissor Capital of China.” According to statistics, in 2024, the city’s share of China’s total metal cutting output was 75 percent, and its exports of such products accounted for 85 percent of the national total. A total of 25 industry enterprises from Yangjiang are participating in the exhibition.

Yangjiang Shibazi Group Co., Ltd. is a famous Chinese knife manufacturer. According to Li Shaojun, Deputy General Director of the company, Central Asia is a completely new market for the company. He hopes that the exhibition will help him find business opportunities and partners in Kyrgyzstan. “Visitors are very interested in our products, so we are confident in successfully developing the local market,” he noted.

Despite the working day, the exhibition attracted a large number of visitors and buyers. Kuanysh Suleimanov, who learned about the exhibition from a TV announcement, came here with a friend. He was delighted by the products made in China. “We are most interested in knives and wooden cutting boards. When the exhibition is over, we are going to buy some things,” he said.

President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Temir Sariev told Xinhua that the exhibition is of great importance. According to him, it allows residents of Kyrgyzstan to purchase high-quality Chinese goods at affordable prices, and also opens up new opportunities for Chinese entrepreneurs to develop their businesses.

The event is jointly organized by the People's Government of Yangjiang City, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan, the Yangjiang City Commerce Bureau and the Guangdong Provincial Building and Decoration Materials Association. –0–
