September 15 marks a professional holiday – the Day of Federal State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance.

Dear friends!

I congratulate you on the Day of Federal State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance.

The establishment of this professional holiday emphasizes how important the selfless work of the Service’s workforce is.

For many years, scientists, hygienists, epidemiologists, microbiologists, virologists, and specialists have been fighting dangerous infectious diseases, monitoring the quality of water, air, and food products, and reliably protecting the health and lives of millions of citizens.

Today, Rospotrebnadzor is implementing large-scale projects, conducting research and development activities to develop unique tests and vaccines, and developing digital technologies. It ensures one of the highest levels of our country's readiness to respond to biological security threats. Within the framework of the federal program "Sanitary Shield of the Country", much is being done to prevent and identify unfavorable epidemiological situations. The automated information system monitors, allows assessing the risks of importation and spread of infectious diseases, and carrying out preventive measures. And of course, I would like to note the important contribution that you make to the formation of a healthy lifestyle for Russians.

On this festive day I want to thank you for your noble work, responsible attitude to professional duty. I wish you new successes and achievements, happiness, health, well-being to you and your loved ones.

M. Mishustin
