Jinxi County, Jiangxi Province, has 128 ancient villages with well-preserved layouts and more than 10,000 ancient buildings from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) periods, making the county known as the "open-air museum of ancient villages". For many years, the local government has been holding the "Save Old Houses" campaign here, consistently promoting the preservation and revitalization of ancient villages. Old houses that were once abandoned and forgotten have been given a new life, some of them have become popular tourist attractions, and today many tourists come here specially.
