BEIJING, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) — Chinese authorities have released a work plan to support Beijing in piloting the World Trade Organization's (WTO) e-commerce agreement, the Ministry of Commerce said Friday.
The document, jointly prepared by five government departments, includes 41 measures in five key areas, including enhancing the level of digitalization in trade, improving data management systems, optimizing the digital consumption environment, enhancing the transparency of telecommunications services, and strengthening international cooperation in digital trade.
The WTO e-commerce agreement marks a major achievement for China in developing multilateral digital trade rules and serves as a milestone in the country's ongoing efforts to promote high-level opening-up, the Commerce Ministry said.
The agreement is expected to help ensure a stable, transparent and predictable regulatory environment for global digital trade and digital transformation, and benefit consumers and businesses involved in digital trade around the world, the department official added. -0-
