BEIJING, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) — A joint exhibition of Chinese and Russian local history archives is underway at the Heilongjiang Provincial Archives in Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province, to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War.
According to the Heilongjiang Daily, the exhibition features more than 550 valuable archival materials that carefully preserve the memory of the 14 glorious years of struggle of the people of Northeast China, led by the Communist Party of China, for national independence and people's liberation.
The exhibition also highlights the historical contribution of the peoples of China and Russia, who fought side by side, to achieving the final victory in the World Anti-Fascist War. Many archival materials are presented to the general public for the first time, including more than 40 archival photographs provided by the Russian Khabarovsk Territory.
The exhibition, which opened on August 6, consists of a stationary and a traveling part. To date, the stationary exhibition, held in the said archive, has been visited by more than 3,500 people. At the same time, the traveling exhibitions, held in various forms in many places in the province, have attracted a total of more than 10,000 visitors. -0-
