Moscow, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) — The premiere of the Chinese feature film "Nanjing Photographer" by director Shen Ao took place in Moscow on Tuesday. The film is being released in Russia simultaneously with the release of the Russian film "Blood Type" in China.

“Both films are about the same thing: the absolutely inhuman nature of fascism and Nazism, which spares neither women, nor children, nor the elderly, nor civilians. And this is about those irreparable losses, about the terrible price that China and the Soviet Union paid for victory in World War II and in national wars – the Great Patriotic War and the War of Resistance of the Chinese People against the Japanese invaders,” said Alexander Zharov, CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding, which is the distributor of the project.
The film is based on true events and tells the story of a group of Chinese civilians who hid in a photo studio and risked their lives to preserve evidence of atrocities committed by the Japanese military.
