HONG KONG, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) — The 10th Belt and Road Summit opened in Hong Kong on Wednesday, bringing together key political and business leaders from countries and regions that have joined the initiative to explore new opportunities for cooperation and build a win-win future.

Over the past 10 years, more than 45,000 people from over 120 countries and regions have attended the summit. Together, they have submitted more than 2,800 Belt and Road cooperation projects, building a common vision through cooperation and connectivity, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Chief Executive Li Jiachao said in his speech to the participants.

Hong Kong, as a "super connector" and "super value adder" for high-quality global cooperation, will continue to promote high-quality development under the Belt and Road, he said.

The Belt and Road Initiative is vital to Cambodia's socio-economic development in terms of providing resources and stimulating cooperation, said Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol. The initiative, he said, strengthens the foundation of Cambodia's development, with projects under the initiative touching the lives of ordinary Cambodians on a daily basis.

As a key event in support of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Hong Kong summit aims to facilitate the expansion of companies' businesses and achieve progress in various projects. -0-
