BEIJING, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) — A train carrying 1,100 tons of flaxseed arrived from Almaty to Longnan City in northwest China's Gansu Province on Thursday, marking the first time a train carrying agricultural products has arrived in the city as part of China-Central Asia rail freight transport.

The said consignment of goods worth 5.06 million yuan was transported to Longnan via the Horos checkpoint on the Chinese-Kazakh border. In more than 20 days, the freight train covered a distance of 3,000 km, the Gansu Daily newspaper reported, citing data from the local customs service.

The Tianshui City Customs Office will optimize customs clearance, provide logistics guarantees and implement a policy support system to help Longnan expand trade exchanges with Belt and Road countries and build a distribution base for agricultural products from Central Asia, according to its head Zhang Taiheng. -0-
