29 Kazakh LRT train operators complete training in China

BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) — After three months of training in the northern Chinese city of Tianjin, 29 light rail transport (LRT) specialists from Astana recently received certificates of completion, Tianjin-based Jinwanbao (Evening Newspaper) reported.

The Astana LRT project is the first of its kind in Kazakhstan. Thanks to the efforts of Tianjin Metro and other Chinese construction companies, the official launch of the project is expected by the end of 2025.

During their stay in China, the mentioned LRT operators acquired the necessary practical skills through training on a simulator with a special simulation program for safe driving and on trains in real conditions. After returning to their hometown, they will participate in the construction and operation of the project.

The Astana LRT network project is considered an important milestone in the development of the city's transport infrastructure and will allow the introduction of advanced solutions to improve the level of comfort of urban transport, and will also contribute to the socio-economic development of the capital of Kazakhstan, experts believe. -0-
