On September 2, during the large-scale events to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, a seminar entitled "Towards a Community of Shared Future: From the Great Spirit of Resistance to Global Initiatives" was held at China Foreign Affairs University, where a paper of the same name was presented.

Zhang Aining, a professor at the Department of International Law at China Foreign Affairs University, believes that one of the most important achievements of human civilization after World War II was the establishment of the United Nations, and the UN Charter is the fundamental legal document for this organization. It is a multilateral treaty by nature, legally binding on all UN member states.

She believes that the three core values of the UN Charter deserve special attention.

First, understanding and preserving history. The UN Charter embodies humanity's profound understanding of two world wars that broke out in less than 30 years.

Secondly, the solution of contemporary problems. The UN Charter promoted new development of international law to solve problems revealed during the Second World War that required urgent solutions.

Third, shaping the future. The UN Charter sets out a plan for building a new world after World War II, that is, a new international order. The past 80 years of history have proven that the foresight of the UN founders has at least ensured relatively long-term peace for humanity.
