BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) — A Y-20 military transport aircraft of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLA) departed from China for the Republic of Korea (ROK) on Wednesday afternoon to carry out a mission to repatriate the remains of 30 more Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) who died in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid the Korean People (1950-53).

According to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea plans to hand over the remains of the KND and their personal belongings on Friday. This will be the 12th time since the agreement was signed between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Korea in 2014.

From 2014 to 2024, China and the ROK, in accordance with international law and humanitarian principles, have successfully completed 11 successive operations to hand over the remains of 981 CPVs and their associated personal belongings.

Both parties agreed to continue cooperation in this area.

It is confirmed that almost 200 thousand KND died during this war. -0-
