BEIJING, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) — China's most powerful domestically produced commercial heavy-duty gas turbine, the Taihang 110, rolled off the assembly line at a factory on Monday and is ready for delivery to a customer, according to the Aero Engine Corporation of China.
The Taihang 110 is a 110-megawatt heavy-duty gas turbine developed indigenously by China. Its upcoming delivery to the customer marks the official entry of this type of turbine into a new phase of commercial application.
Heavy gas turbines are key equipment and a symbol of industrial power. Only a limited number of countries in the world have the capacity to develop them themselves.
