BEIJING, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) — A video contest titled "I Am the Ambassador of Xi'an: Central Asian Youth's View of Xi'an" has officially kicked off in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, aiming to deepen people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between Xi'an and Central Asian countries to bring peoples closer together.

According to local newspaper Xi'an Ribao, the event was jointly organized by the Propaganda Department of the Xi'an City Party Committee, the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC City Committee and the Xi'an City Education Department.

The competition is aimed at students from five Central Asian countries studying at universities in Xi'an, as well as young people from Central Asian countries working or doing business in the city. Participants are invited to tell the story of Xi'an through the prism of youth perspective and build bridges of cultural interaction through innovative means.

The participants' works should focus on the topic of Xi'an, including the situation in such areas as the operation of the collection and distribution center of China-Europe freight trains in Xi'an, the development of cross-border e-commerce, the development projects of Xi'an digital city, the development of the digital content industry, local historical and cultural characteristics and the internationalization of cultural and tourism development, Xi'an's achievements in the development of educational cooperation within the framework of the "Belt and Road", etc.

The preliminary round of the competition will be open until September 10. All eligible individuals can submit their applications through the official WeChat account of Xi'an Waishi /Xi'an Foreign Affairs.
