KUNMING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) — The Global South Joint Communication Partnership Network, initiated by Xinhua News Agency, was launched Saturday at the 2025 Global South Media and Think Tank Forum held in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province.
The first group of communication cooperation partners consists of more than 1,000 media outlets, think tanks and other institutions from 95 countries and regions in the Global South. The Network, first proposed by Xinhua News Agency in November 2024, is expected to carry out cooperation on two platforms – the Global South Media and Think Tank High-Level Forum and the Global South Media News Network.
The new format will include a series of international and regional conferences, professional seminars, special training sessions, photo exhibitions and other events. In addition to launching joint projects, publishing think tank reports, special columns and initiatives, and consensus, the network is being created to jointly strengthen the communication capacity and amplify the voice of the Global South, the organizers said.
The Global South High-Level Media and Think Tank Forum kicked off on Saturday, co-organized by Xinhua News Agency, the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and the Yunnan People's Government. -0-
