KUNMING, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) — The Belt and Road Initiative is a shining example of the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, according to an analysis released Saturday.
The report, titled "Answers to the Questions of Our Time: The Global Significance and Practical Value of China's Intellectual Public Goods," was prepared by the Xinhua Institute, a think tank affiliated with the Xinhua News Agency.
The report said the Belt and Road Initiative, proposed in 2013, upholds the principles of joint consultation, joint construction and shared benefits, while embracing the concepts of openness, greenness and fairness.
The initiative focuses on five key areas – policy coordination, infrastructure connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration and building closer people-to-people ties – which the report characterises as “hard connectivity”, “soft connectivity” and “spiritual connectivity”.
Over more than 10 years of development, the Belt and Road Initiative has become the world's largest platform for international cooperation, implementing a wide range of projects, including such iconic ones as the China-Europe Express Railway, the China-Laos Railway and the Greek port of Piraeus.
The initiative has become a widely welcomed public good and platform for international cooperation provided by China in the international community, opening up new paths for the common development of all countries, the report said. -0-
