COLOMBO, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) — At least 15 people were killed in a bus accident in Sri Lanka's Uva province on Thursday, police said.

According to her, about 16 people were injured and hospitalized. A representative of the local hospital said that some of them were in critical condition.

According to the police, the accident happened on Thursday evening. The bus, carrying a group of municipal employees returning from vacation, left the road and fell into a ravine several hundred meters deep.
