YINCHUAN, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) — A new air route linking Yinchuan, capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, with Guiyang, capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, officially began operating Wednesday morning. The first flight on the route was carried out from Yinchuan by a Boeing 737.
According to the schedule, flights will operate on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The plane will depart from Yinchuan at 07:00 Beijing time, stop in Guiyang for 1.5 hours, depart at 11:00 Beijing time, and land in Kuala Lumpur at 14:45 local time. The return journey will begin in the Malaysian capital at 16:25 local time, stop in Guiyang for about one hour and 40 minutes, and then arrive in Yinchuan at 00:45 Beijing time, according to the airport authority in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
The launch of this route is expected to further shorten the spatial and temporal distance between the area and Southeast Asia, and help them expand their international exchanges and cooperation, according to the Ningxia branch of China West Airport Group. -0-
