To obtain the status of "Moscow doctor", the applicant must have the required work experience in the specialty and pass three stages of assessment procedures: computer testing for knowledge of theory, demonstration of practical skills, and an interview with solving problems on clinical thinking. At the same time, in addition to the increased level of requirements for the knowledge and skills of the doctor, the threshold for passing each of the stages by the number of points scored has been increased.
The Moscow Doctor project was created in 2017 on the initiative of the Moscow City Health Department with the support of Sergei Sobyanin. In June 2024, the procedure for submitting an application for a voluntary assessment to obtain the honorary status of "Moscow Doctor" became much simpler.
