BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the People's Republic of Korea, held talks with Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, in Beijing on Thursday.
As Xi Jinping noted, China and the DPRK are good neighbors, loyal friends and reliable comrades who share a common destiny and help each other.
Kim Jong-un arrived in China to attend commemorative events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Xi said this demonstrated the DPRK's firm determination to uphold the victory in World War II and provided an important opportunity for the two parties and two countries to further develop friendly cooperation. –0–
