BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) — Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, held separate meetings in Beijing on Thursday with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Vietnamese President Luong Cuong and South Korean National Assembly (parliament) Speaker U Won-sik.

A. Vucic, Luong Cuong and U Won Sik arrived in China to take part in commemorative events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

During the meeting with A. Vucic, Zhao Leji said that China is willing to work with Serbia to implement the important agreements reached by the leaders of the two countries, firmly support each other, strengthen exchanges and cooperation between legislative bodies, and promote the further development of bilateral relations.

A. Vučić, in turn, noted that the Serbian people are proud of their friendship with China. He emphasized that Serbia supports the Global Governance Initiative put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping, resolutely supports China in protecting its core interests and counts on closer coordination with China both bilaterally and multilaterally.

During the meeting with Luong Cuong, Zhao Leji stressed China's willingness to enhance strategic mutual trust with Vietnam, firmly support each other, and strive for development and recovery hand in hand. He added that the NPC is willing to strengthen exchanges with the National Assembly of Vietnam and make contributions to deepening the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.

For his part, Luong Cuong pointed out that Vietnam is willing to work with China to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties and the two countries, strengthen solidarity and mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, promote closer exchanges between legislative bodies, and push for the continuous development of bilateral relations.

At the meeting with Wu Won-sik, Zhao Leji stressed that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China hopes to work with the ROK to achieve the sustainable, healthy and stable development of bilateral relations. He added that the NPC intends to maintain close communication with the ROK National Assembly, providing legal guarantees for bilateral practical cooperation and promoting the further development of relations between the two countries.

In turn, U Won-sik stated that in the current situation, the Republic of Korea and China should strengthen contacts and cooperation to form more mature and stable bilateral relations. He expressed the readiness of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea to actively promote this process. –0–
