Specialists from the city services complex will wash about two thousand engineering structures in anticipation of City Day, which is celebrated on September 13 and 14 this year. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Public Utilities and Improvement Petr Biryukov.

"Large-scale works are planned to flush about two thousand engineering structures – these are bridges, tunnels, underground and overground pedestrian crossings, embankments, piers, fountains and monuments. In addition, we will update over 1.2 thousand objects of urban infrastructure," said Pyotr Biryukov.

In total, about 500 utility workers and 113 units of equipment will be involved. The work includes cleaning and washing structural elements, concrete, metal and glass surfaces, railings, and stairwells.

If necessary, specialists will carry out routine repairs of the structures. For washing, they will use aerial platforms, watering and tunnel washing machines.

Road services will also clean signs, information boards, pointers, safety buffers, noise protection screens, barriers and pedestrian fences. Monuments and fountains are washed manually using a special technology and neutral detergents that do not damage the surface. And for tunnels and bridges, alkaline solutions are used.
