Pyotr Shereshevsky created an expressive play about tolerance and religious contradictions in Jerusalem in the 12th century, during the Third Crusade. Playwright Semyon Sakseyev worked on the script for the production based on the last play by Gotthold Ephraim Lessing.
One of the main characters will be the Jewish merchant Nathan, whose daughter will be saved from a fire by a militant Christian, who actually came to conquer the land of Judea. The creators of the play attempted to look into the depths of history and answer the question: "How can people with different views understand each other and live in peace?"
