BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping inspected the armed forces in Beijing on Wednesday at a military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Sitting in a domestically produced Hongqi (Red Flag) car, Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, gave the order to begin the inspection.

As the car slowly moved east, passing the fluttering party flag, national flag and army flag, Xi Jinping saluted them with his eyes.

To the sound of majestic military music, Xi Jinping drove along Chang'an Avenue, inspecting the parade units, battle flag units and weapons parade formations one by one. -0-
