On the platform "Active Citizen for Children" opened survey, in which young residents of the capital will choose a name for an alpaca born at the VDNKh “City Farm” on August 3.
The baby was born in the morning. Her mother's name is Dosya, and her father's name is Berberis. The newborn slept almost all the time during the first day, but her mother woke her up to feed her. Now they have adapted to the new conditions and feel great. The cub is actively gaining weight, which is already more than 10 kilograms. The girl's character is different from her sisters Shokoladka and Chernichka. She is more like her father Berberis – just as thoughtful and dreamy.
The baby walks with her mother almost every day. More often in the morning, before opening, or in the first hour after the farm starts working, so that no one disturbs the little alpaca. It happens that she can show up during the day. However, you can see the baby at any time: she is in the enclosure – in the barn, which is located in the public domain.
The baby's color is black, but it may change a little as the alpaca grows up. For about six months, it will feed on milk, and later it will switch to an adult animal's diet (hay, vegetables, grass, special muesli).
Alpacas usually live in the Andes at an altitude of three and a half to five thousand meters, inhabiting the territories of Ecuador, the southern regions of Peru, northern Chile and western Bolivia. The history of alpaca domestication began about six thousand years ago, when ancient Peruvians first tamed these animals and began breeding them. Guests of VDNKh have the opportunity to see, photograph, pet and feed alpacas in Moscow.
Young Muscovites are offered a choice of six names for alpaca: Lada, Bardo, Nochka, Sumac, Inti and Korichka. Residents of the capital aged six to 14 can take part in the survey. To do this, you need a standard account on the mos.ru portal or authorization on platform "Moscow Electronic School".
For participating in the survey, children will be awarded children's points for the city's loyalty program "A Million Prizes", using which you can get gifts: a school backpack, board games, ice cream molds, certificates to stores and cafes and much more.
The City Farm family park of interactive farming and crafts opened at VDNKh in 2015 and celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. Each guest has the opportunity to stroll through the interactive zoo and attend master classes in equipped rooms and a picturesque greenhouse — classes are included in the price of the entrance ticket. The City Farm seasonal programs delight with their diversity: quests and teambuilding in the summer, New Year's performances in the winter. You can admire the new resident, as well as other inhabitants of the City Farm — rabbits, a donkey, raccoons, reindeer, zebu and goats — on weekdays from 10:30 to 20:00, and on weekends and holidays — from 10:30 to 21:00.
"Active Citizen for Children"— is an online platform created specifically for young Muscovites. On it, kids can make important decisions for the city by participating in surveys. They will also find quizzes, games, comics and videos that introduce Moscow, tell about its history, development and projects for children, as well as how residents help the capital become better.
