On August 31, a 500,000 kW photovoltaic desertification control project was successfully connected to the power grid and put into operation in Dalad Qi Hushun, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
According to the data, once fully operational, the project is expected to supply an average of 850 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity per year, equivalent to saving 260,000 tons of standard coal, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 720,000 tons, sulfur dioxide by 266 tons and nitrogen oxides by 292 tons.
The project fully implements robotic installation of photovoltaic modules, which makes full use of the advantages of standardization, precision and round-the-clock construction, significantly improves installation efficiency and effectively reduces the risks of working at height.
This project is the first photovoltaic project to combat desertification in Inner Mongolia, which simultaneously realizes new energy development and ecological restoration, not only providing the region with clean energy but also greatly improving the local ecological environment. The project has also created jobs for more than 400 local farmers and herders.
