TBILISI, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) — The traditional grape harvest season has started in Georgia's eastern Kakheti region. About 3,500 tons of grapes have already been processed, the Georgian National Wine Agency said Tuesday.
The harvest will be carried out in stages, as the berries reach the required maturity.
To ensure coordinated and efficient grape harvesting in the region, a special coordination headquarters, “Harvest 2025,” operates around the clock.
According to the headquarters, about 200 winemaking companies are involved in the reception and processing of grapes.
According to forecasts, Georgia plans to harvest up to 300 thousand tons of grapes this year. –0–
