CAIRO, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) — Egypt hopes to further strengthen its relations with China, especially in the economic sphere, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel al-Wazir said on Monday.

In his statement, he drew attention to the fact that China is Egypt's main trading partner and expressed hope that more Chinese companies will invest in the country.

K. al-Wazir will reportedly visit China as an envoy of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to attend commemorative events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Emphasizing the strength of Egyptian-Chinese ties, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that a comprehensive strategic partnership has been established between the two countries since 2014.

K. Al-Wazir referred to the plan for the implementation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Egypt and China, which was signed in 2024. He pointed out that this agreement serves as a roadmap for developing and raising the level of bilateral relations based on the practical achievements of previous years.

The program of K. al-Wazir's trip to China includes a series of meetings with the heads and representatives of large Chinese companies to discuss cooperation issues and ways to attract additional Chinese investment to the Egyptian market. –0–
