BEIJING, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) — Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing met in Beijing on Sunday with Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretary-General Kao Kim Horn, who is in China to attend the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
Zhang Guoqing, also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, said that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of China and ASEAN countries, the China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership continues to deepen.
As the Vice Premier of the State Council noted, China, which is currently developing new-quality productive forces in line with local conditions and promoting new-type industrialization, is willing to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with ASEAN.
Kao Kim Horn, for his part, highly appreciated the relations between ASEAN and China and expressed hope for strengthening cooperation with China in such areas as the digital economy and artificial intelligence. –0–
