According to customs statistics, in the first seven months of this year, the import and export volume of the China-SCO Demonstration Zone with other member countries of the organization amounted to 53.26 billion yuan, up 26.1% over the same period last year. Of which, exports amounted to 26.88 billion yuan, up 21.5%, and imports amounted to 26.38 billion yuan, up 31.0%.
The advantages of industrial clusters in the China-SCO Demonstration Zone have contributed to rapid export growth, with exports of electrical products such as refrigerators and washing machines growing by 13.8%, and exports of textiles and garments by 27.6%.
During the same period, the demonstration area made full use of foreign resources, actively expanding the range of imported goods. Seafood from the Russian Far East, dried fruits and dairy products from Central Asia are delivered to the tables of Chinese residents – the population's needs for food products are constantly being enriched. Imports of agricultural products such as frozen cod and dried peppers exceeded 8 billion yuan, an increase of 14.7% year-on-year.
