KABUL, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) — Five people were killed and eight others injured in heavy rains and flash floods in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, state-run Bakhtar News Agency reported on Saturday.

The state news agency, quoting Mavalvi Sediqullah Qureshi, the provincial director of information and culture, added that five people were killed and eight others injured as a result of heavy rains that caused floods in Rodat, Haska Mina and Chaparhar districts on Friday.
