On August 27, the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty opened an exhibition of paintings and photographs entitled “Magnificent China: Art and Beauty of Xinjiang.” The event was attended by more than 100 people, including representatives of diplomatic missions, famous scientists, cultural figures, journalists, employees of Chinese companies, as well as ethnic Chinese and students living abroad.
The exhibition was organized by the Consulate General of China in Almaty jointly with the All-China Association of Literary and Art Workers and the Association of Cultural and Art Workers in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Deputy Director of the Central State Museum of Kazakhstan Ms. Balayeva, speaking at the opening ceremony, noted that the exhibition is intended to deepen cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and China and strengthen friendly relations between the organizations and peoples of the two countries. The Central State Museum of Kazakhstan will support the state's efforts to popularize historical and cultural heritage and develop non-governmental exchanges.
Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty Jiang Wei emphasized that the exhibition through works of art demonstrates the magnificent landscapes of Xinjiang, the rapid process of modernization of the region and the harmonious coexistence of representatives of different nationalities, opening up a new opportunity for the people of Kazakhstan to get to know and better understand Xinjiang.
Vice Chairman and Party Secretary of the Xinjiang Cultural and Art Workers Association Deng Xuanbin noted that the exhibits of the exhibition, filled with sincere love, will help friends from Kazakhstan and Central Asia see the real, three-dimensional, dynamically developing China in all its manifestations and feel the beauty and harmony of the vast and prosperous Xinjiang. He expressed hope for strengthening ties with Central Asian artists to develop cultural exchanges and friendship between peoples.
The exhibition, which features 35 paintings and photographs, will last 15 days.
